Filippos Christoforidis

Filippos Christoforides is a Podiatrist graduate from Queen Margaret University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and a graduate from the Department of Nursing of the Cyprus University of Technology. He has completed his Master degree from the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approach to the Diabetic Foot. He is a member of the British (Royal College of Podiatry) and the Cyprus Association of Podiatrists and since 2025 he has served as Vice President of the Cyprus Association of Registered Podiatrists.

Filippos was a full time employee Podiatrist in a private clinic in Edinburgh with a focus on skin diseases and with a particular interest in cases with extensive ingrown toenails, management and treatment of diabetic ulcers, including all related podiatric services. He has performed numerous onychectomies using the Matricectomy and Winograd Procedure method as well as being a supervisor in nail surgeries for podiatry graduates.

He has attended various seminars on invasive and conservative treatments for warts and other related skin diseases (verrucae needling, conservative and invasive treatments for onychomycosis), biomechanics in sports diseases, pediatric podiatry, preventive diagnostic tests for skin cancer, Kinesiology taping, Multiwave Laser therapy as well as Medical Dry needling (medical acupuncture). In addition, he has completed a series of seminars in the field of skin microsurgery from the Royal College of Medicine and Royal College of General Practitioner of the United Kingdom.

Filippos completed his internship in various public hospitals in Scotland such as NHS Lothian, Edinburgh (Inchkeith House Clinic, Royal Infirmary and Western General Hospital), NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (Louisa Jordan) and NHS Tayside (Arbroath).

As part of his nursing career, he worked in the public hospital in England, Norther Devon District Hospital NHS in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit department as a nursing officer. In addition, he attended various advanced intensive care nursing seminars and others related to the intensive care unit of the patient. He also collaborated with various care units in the past to treat diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers in bedridden patients.

He is now working as a private practitioner at the Medical centre 'O Apostolos Loukas' in Egkomi and is also contracted with General Health System (GESY).
